Meet the team

POLLY, SUPERVISOR

Polly has been an absolute joy to work with at Sabzi – she is passionate about food, and is so in tune with me, and my vision for Sabzi, she just ‘gets’ it. Her love of delicious food and drink is infectious, and her positive, wonderfully cheerful and approachable manner with our customers has led to her becoming a truly special member of our team. Polly moved to Penzance at the end of last year, and I have been blown away by her commitment and staying power in commuting to Sabzi from such a distance for so long. While I am truly gutted to see Polly go, we all understand that the distance has ultimately become a bridge too far. We feel lucky to have worked with Polly for so long, and will miss her.

Hi POLLY! Could you describe your job in three words?

Fun, busy, social.

What’s the best thing that’s happened to you this week?

I went for a lovely lunch with some friends on Sunday. Proper Sunday roast - my fave.

How do you like to start your day?

With a cup of tea and the crossword.

What motivates you?

I love the feeling of doing my job well, and maybe making someone else's day a little brighter.

What’s your favourite snack?

Sourdough toast. I'm such a millennial...

What was your first job?

I worked on a crêpe stall at Glastonbury festival for a couple of summers. Best summers ever!

That sounds like a lot of fun! What are you passionate about?

Cooking - I absolutely love it. I love sharing my recipes and recommendations... beware if you ever ask me - I might never stop talking.

Who’s your favourite musical artist?

Ahh I just can't whittle it down to just one! My top three albums currently are Lemonade - Beyonce, Joanna - Lady GaGa, and Sin - John Floreani - I'm just listening to them on repeat.

Beyonce is become a bit of a theme as a Sabzi Star favourite! What is one thing you are currently trying to make a habit of?

Keeping in touch with my friends.

What topic could you give an hour-long presentation on with little, to no preparation?

I could probably make a slide show of all the photos of my cats that would last an hour... not sure how interested anyone else would be, but I'd love it!

What food have you tried that’s the furthest out of your comfort zone?

Hm, I'm not really sure! I'd happily eat most things!!

If you could eat one dish for every meal for the rest of your life what would it be?

It's got to be Christmas dinner every time.

Where would you take a Sabzi lunchbox to eat?

The beach? I bet everyone says that. But where better in Cornwall, really?

Thank you Polly.
